I thought this coming-of-age book set in the 1970's was an interesting read.  It brings to light a lot of touchy subjects that many authors avoid, and that is the subject of both spousal abuse and adultery.  The main character is connectable, and she is an interesting person to watch grow and evolve, and to watch the hardships she faces shape her, rather than break her.  As the story progresses, I would have liked to see a little more outside involvement, but that was the way it happened in those days--much in the marriage went unnoticed except between the couple.  All in all, an enjoyable read.
