Wild Passion, Story Three in the Wild Series

Rating:  4 stars

Wild Passion was a short story, and a quick read.  I acquired it on Amazon, through another free promotion.  It was a well-received and well-liked book, and I enjoyed it immensely too.  The action starts right away, and doesn't let you go.  Highly recommended.

This was a very unique short story.  I connected with the main female character right away, and I enjoyed it immensely.  The one thing I really didn't like was the jumping around.  It made the story feel disjointed, but at the same time, connected.  The abilities of the heroine are unique and special to her; it's not as smutty a romance as I was expecting, judging by the cover.  It's a unique read about defying and living the future you want to live, of sacrifice and tossing off the fetters of a life you thought you knew. My regret?  It ended.

"Light of Eidon" Legend of the Guardian-King, Book 1

Rating:  4 stars

Recently, I had the pleasure to finish a book entitled "The Light of Eidon," by Karen Hancock.  The acquisition of this book was through a kindle offer, as many series are now doing, so the first one is available for free.  I got it on a whim, and I can't say it wasn't wasted time.  The book begins innocently enough, with a young man running from his calling, and it has, from the very beginning, some pretty obvious Christian overtones.  Now, I will be the first to admit I don't generally jump at the opportunity to read Christian fiction, but for some reason this book just...intrigued me.  As I kept reading, I was not to be disappointed.  It became a page-turner for me, and although the characters weren't as connectable as I'd like them to be, it was still an enjoyable read.  It left many questions answered, and the realm of magic and myth that was within the book was a little far-fetched, but it was still a good read.  I know this reader, at the very least, will be buying the second book to see if the trend continues.

Traveler

My first review will come up soon, I promise you that.  I just haven't been able to read as fast as I would like to due to work and other such life circumstances.

But, I would like to offer my readers a taste of Ashley.  Attached is the link to my first novel, Traveler, published this year.  Please read, and enjoy, and please post a review for me.

As a self-published author, it is very difficult for me to get publicity unless it is through word of mouth, or through the reviews of my peers.  I can honestly say that without your help, I would not be able to do this, embark on this adventure, and bring my story to the world.

Much love,

Ashley

Venturing into the World of Book Review

Starting with my blog on cooking that I started a while back, I have decided to actually put my love of books to good use.  I have decided to use this blog as a way to do that, to advertise books for my friends and to put my reviews up on their books to begin everything.

To start off, I am going to do a shameless plug for my own novel, published at the beginning of May.  It's a fantasy novel, about a woman who finds herself drawn to a novel that transports her to another world.  Once she's there, she finds herself drawn to the people she meets, into the stories they live, and she must choose--does she involve herself ever deeper, or does she turn her back on the book world?

Traveler

I could never have done it without the invaluable help of Katie McGowan, my co-author.  Keep an eye out for Rebel, Book 2!
